History Cadets

On Saturday, 20 January, some of our junior pupils were in school for another History Cadets session run by staff from the Senior School. Working on the theme of textual analysis, the group first looked at the chronology and origins of different types of writing, including carving into stone, ink and paper, and electronic typing. To further investigate the different text types, pupils tried their hands at carving pictograms with a chisel in the manner of Egyptian hieroglyphs and then progressed to making their own quills and ink to write in an authentic historical style.

College of Activities

Visitors to St Gabriel's quickly recognise that this is no ordinary school. Parents are always impressed by the sense of purpose and enthusiasm of the talented, committed staff and the confidence of the extremely happy pupils. We offer girls the opportunity for a seamless journey from Nursery through to Sixth Form, with our boys leaving us at the age of 11 for their senior schools.
