On Wednesday, 9 November, eleven English Literature students went to the Sheldonian in Oxford to hear Margaret Atwood speak about her new book, 'Hag-Seed; she was interviewed by Emma Smith, Professor of Shakespeare Studies at Oxford University. The talk covered diverse topics such as which Shakespeare character was the best representation of the playwright himself, influences of Atwood's own childhood on her writing and her contribution to the Future Library Project in Norway.
The evening talk was a hugely educational and entertaining experience, and we all learned a lot about a wide range of topics. The pre-talk visit to the Oxford Blackwells bookshop was also a very enjoyable experience which we hope to repeat.
