The Sixth Form day begins at 8.40 am. For three mornings each week, Sixth Formers attend assembly with the rest of the Senior School. Most Sixth Form students are Form Prefects and spend form time with their tutor group once a week. Tuesday mornings are devoted to an enjoyable news quiz for all students in mixed teams from Year 12 and Year 13.

The school day is divided into five periods of 65 minutes. The majority of these periods will be spent in A level lessons, but the Sixth Form day offers plenty of flexibility for individual study, research and enrichment. When our Sixth Form students are not studying, you might find them helping younger pupils with their reading, running a school club or organising a charity or House event.

Students enjoy the exclusive use of a common room and silent study room in the main building as well as a kitchen and six teaching and learning rooms in the new Sixth Form centre.

Lunchtime takes place from 12.45pm to 1.45pm – Sixth Form students eat in Gabbies. There is a large choice of activities at lunchtime - from specialist Oxbridge classes to football or school council meetings. Students spend an afternoon at Nuffield Health Centre swimming, using the gym or participating in an exercise class.

The school day ends at 4.00pm, but the day is usually far from over, as many students will remain at school for clubs, drama rehearsals or sports matches.

Sixth Form Dress

On formal school occasions, the Sixth Form are expected to wear a suit.  At other times, students dress appropriately for a working school environment, in a style that approximates to smart office wear
