Welcome to Sixth Form
“St Gabriel’s has taught me that the sky is the limit and has helped me to realise my dreams.”
Sixth Form student
Whether you are an existing St Gabriel’s student, or you are joining us from another school you will find the Sixth Form a totally new and exciting experience.
The Sixth Form provides a vibrant and challenging environment, where you will not only be supported to achieve your academic ambitions but also provided with opportunities to grow as an individual.
We offer small tutor groups with regular one-to-one meetings with your form tutor and teaching staff, which means we get to know you as an individual and will work with you to achieve your ambitions. It also means that if at any point you have any concerns, academically or pastorally, we can together address these quickly and effectively.
You will have lots of opportunities to develop your own talents as well as acquire new skills. Young Enterprise, World Challenge, debating, peer mentoring and fundraising for the school's chosen charity are just some of the many co-curricular activities available to students. We also expect you to represent, and play an active role, within the school. As a Sixth Form student you will be given responsibilities that develop your leadership, organisational and social skills from being a prefect to chairing the School Council, running clubs and social activities for younger pupils, organising whole school House competitions or representing the school at events.
Our aim is to ensure that when you leave St Gabriel’s you are confident and prepared for life at university and beyond. Regular sessions are held on gaining places on highly competitive courses, including Law and Medicine, and on applying to Oxbridge. Specialist, tailored guidance from staff, careers professionals and alumnae will help inform and enable you to make considered decisions about your choice of university and course. Our membership of the Unifrog careers platform will ensure that you have all the information you need to make informed decisions about life after St Gabriel’s.
